How long do skylights last?
There are over 1,000 flat roof skylights and skylight dome profiles to choose from and so warranties will vary, but as a skylight supplier we usually give a guide of 15 years, although some manufacturers offer 20 year warranties on specific skylight products. However, they can last longer than this.
How long they last will depend on the quality of the manufacture – we always recommend high quality industrial rooflights and skylights. Flat roof skylights and skylight dome products must be maintained and cleaned regularly.
Careful attention must also be paid to installation and flashings since improper installation can lead to a leak at the edges of a skylight dome (where the skylight meets the building frame).
