We offer a comprehensive and competitively priced range of insulated gutters, including membrane-lined and galvanised options. We’re your one-stop shop for all things guttering!
Well Connected to Supply to the Trade
Being an independent supplier, we’re able to supply you with a wide range of insulated gutters and perhaps solutions you may not even be aware of.
We can quickly source systems that provide a secure watertight gutter solution, especially at the gutter joints and other higher-risk leakage points.
As a supplier of membrane lined insulated gutters, we know just how important it is to install a membrane of the right thickness. Additionally, our steel options are available in range of thicknesses from 0.6mm to 1.5mm with steel widths up to 1.475m wide.
This gives our customers more scope to choose the correct guttering system, depending on whether they need high drainage capacity or a single skin profile.
The manufacturers we work with
We only work with and supply high-quality systems from trusted manufacturers that also offer appropriate warranties. When you choose Prestige, you choose peace of mind, quality, and the parts to ensure you can deliver a finished project that speaks for itself.
Best of all, we’ve made the purchasing process simple. Since we have many years’ experience in the trade, we co-ordinate your deliveries to help keep your project on track. Our national logistics network delivers the membrane lined insulated gutters and systems you need quickly, easily and cost-effectively.
There are two main types of insulated gutters used in industrial buildings and these are single skin gutters and membrane lined insulated gutters.
Single skin pre-laminated membrane insulated gutters are made from a galvanised steel section that has a polymeric membrane on the exposed side of the gutter.
Membrane lined insulated gutters, however, have an additional insulation material on the inner facing aspect of the structural galvanised steel gutter section. In some cases, depending on the specification, there may also be another surface covering the insulation material for aesthetic appeal. The entire gutter system is produced in a factory and delivered to site complete.
Insulated gutters, also known as membrane lined insulated gutters, have been used in the industrial roofing industry for many years now.
When manufactured and installed correctly, membrane lined insulated gutters provide a high-performing watertight gutter system.
They are typically made from galvanised gutter bonded insulation of any thickness sandwiched between a white polyester soffit. The bonded lining prevents water penetration, gives added insulation and protects the gutter itself from becoming damaged.
In addition, the thermal performance of insulated gutters is usually specified to have a higher U Value than the surrounding roof system to prevent ponding water freezing during the winter.
One of our biggest selling membrane lined insulated gutters is Kingspan, which is available in lengths of up to 8m. It also has a guaranteed structural, thermal and fire performance of up to 25 years.
Membrane lined insulated gutters are designed to last for many years. However, as with all insulated gutters, regular inspections and maintenance will be required.
Insulated gutters, and in fact any gutter, should be inspected on a yearly basis and after any adverse weather. The insulated gutters and connecting downpipes etc… should be checked for damage and debris that may block the system. The best way to do this is by using non-metallic tools such as soft bristled brushes and PVC shovels to ensure the membrane is not damaged.
Usually, manufacturers of galvanised insulated gutters will detail the expected maintenance needed.
Also, as a side-note, gutter maintenance is often an insurance consideration too. Failing to maintain membrane lined insulated gutters could lead to further damage beyond the gutter itself.
Membrane lined insulated gutters create a fully sealed gutter system and are a perfect solution to rainwater management. Generally, most insulated gutters have a weathering membrane, integral insulation, a polyester painted or galvanised steel lining, and are made to order for boundary wall, parapet gutter and valley applications. Additionally, insulated T sections, outlets, stop ends, sumps and downpipes are also available.
Most of our membrane lined insulated gutters are available in custom lengths up to 8m.
The membrane thickness directly impacts the expected lifespan of insulated gutters. As standard, PIRS supplies membrane lined insulated gutters with a membrane thickness of between 0.6mm and 1.2mm depending on the system requirements. There’s a wide range of clever galvanised insulated gutters available.
Take Unifold as an example, it is manufactured from an EPDM membrane that is pressure bonded to a galvanised coated steel substrate. During the bonding, the hinges are formed to give the insulated gutter ultimate flexibility. Installation is easy even in the most difficult of circumstances.
The standard thickness for membrane lined insulated gutters tends to be anywhere between 30mm and 100mm, with a membrane thickness of 0.6mm to 1.2mm.
The external facing PVC painted or galvanised insulated gutter is usually 0.6mm thick, and the internal liner slimmer at 0.5mm.
Taking Kingspan membrane lined insulated gutters as an example, the U-value (W/m²k) depends on the core thickness. Kingspan insulated gutters with a 30mm core will offer a U-Value of 0.67W/m²k, whereas a thickness of 100m offers 0.21W/m2k.
